What RERA says about Carpet Area?

As per the RERA Act, builders are legally responsible for mentioning the carpet area and specifying the price units. If the carpet area is reduced during the construction, the builder must repay the excess amount to the buyer within 45 days with additional annual interest.

In the case of an increase in the carpet area, the developer may also ask the buyer to pay an additional amount, and RERA limits that the increase in carpet area should not exceed 3%.
