What is the difference between the RERA carpet area and carpet area?

The carpet area is the net usable floor area of a flat or an apartment, excluding balconies, open terrace, verandah, external and internal walls. The RERA Carpet area also remains the same, the net usable area covered by the internal walls of the apartment. The RERA Carpet area is 70% of the built-up area of a property. For e.g. if the built-up area of a property is 1000 sq. ft., then the RERA carpet area will be 70% of 1000 sq. ft., i.e. 700 sq. ft.
