What is the penalty for the non-registration of a project under the RERA?

If any builder fails to register a project under the act, he will be liable for a penalty that can be extended up to 10% of the estimated cost of the real estate project. For persistent violation, he could face up to three years in prison or a fine of up to another ten percent of the estimated cost of the real estate project, or both.
