Chennai, March 5, 2024: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated search operations on several real estate firms located in Chennai. The raids, conducted in prominent areas including T Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, and Anna Nagar, are aimed at gathering evidence related to money laundering and financial misconduct, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Among the targeted entities, Iyra Builders and Vishnu Granites have come under the scrutiny of the ED. Teams comprising ED sleuths, accompanied by CRPF personnel, were dispatched to various locations for the searches.

In Thiruvanmiyur, the premises of a businessman identified as Navin were raided by the ED. Simultaneously, another team arrived at the office of Iyra Builders situated in T Nagar. Additionally, in Anna Nagar, the residence of a businessman named Subramaniam was searched by the ED officers. Similarly, in Kotturpuram, the house of Vishnu Reddy, a prominent granite businessman, was subject to scrutiny by three ED sleuths.

The Enforcement Directorate has not disclosed the specific reasons behind these searches. However, it has been revealed that digital financial documents, account records, and property holdings associated with the targeted entities were seized for further verification.

Sources within the ED suggest that the search operations may continue into the following day, indicating a concerted effort to uncover potential financial irregularities.
