Initiation of MahaRERA Certification Training Program for Real Estate Agents

All India Institute of Local Self Governance (AIILSG) Develops the Course for MahaRERA Certification Preparation Training Program for Real Estate Agents.

Commencement of Course Designed to Train Realtors for MahaRERA Exam and Conduct Business in Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA).

The All India Institute of Local Self Governance (AIILSG) has developed a course to enable real estate agents across Maharashtra to receive training for the MahaRERA certification exam. The course has been designed with the goal of making it widely accessible throughout the state. To complement the course, an online exam will be conducted starting at the end of April, with the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) providing assistance with the examination process.

Over 523 real estate agents have registered themselves for the first round of the MahaRERA certification training program, which was initiated to prepare realtors for the MahaRERA certification exam. In January, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) announced that it would be mandatory for all new registrations and renewals of real estate agents to undergo this training and obtain a certificate, starting from May 1st. The new regulation also requires real estate projects to only engage with agents who are registered with MahaRERA, emphasizing the importance of being certified under the regulatory framework.

Existing Registered Agents Required to Complete Training and Certification by September 1st; Approximately 39,000 Agents Registered with MahaRERA.

Real Estate Agents, who act as intermediaries between potential home buyers and developers or existing homeowners, have been brought under the purview of regulatory law. This move is aimed at preventing any overcommitments or misguidance from agents, which could significantly impact home-buying decisions with far-reaching consequences.

Furthermore, the MahaRERA certification requirement also extends to staff working at the agents' offices who interact with customers.
