Following MahaRera's issuance of warrants to retrieve a sum of approximately Rs 36 lakh, the Karjat Tehsildar has initiated the auction process for two flats belonging to a Karjat-based developer. The developer had neglected to fulfill a compensation payment of Rs 36 lakh to a homebuyer.
In May 2022, Montang Infrastructure of Karjat was directed by MahaRera to provide a compensation amount of Rs 36 lakh to a complainant. Despite the directive, the developer failed to honor the payment, leading MahaRera to issue a warrant to the Raigad collectorate for the recovery of the owed amount. Consequently, the Karjat Tehsildar took action by attaching two flats, spanning 27 and 28 square meters respectively, and facilitating their auction. The auction event is scheduled to take place on August 22 at the Kasheli Gram Panchayat office.
MahaRera has thus far issued a total of 104 warrants aimed at recuperating around Rs 21 crore from developers responsible for 42 projects within the Raigad district. Among these warrants, 52 have resulted in the recovery of Rs 6.72 crore.
