Narayana Murthy's Bengaluru Real Estate Purchase Sparks Intriguing Complexity Debate

Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy has reportedly purchased a luxury apartment in Bengaluru’s Kingfisher Towers, known as the Billionaires' Tower, for a whopping ₹50 crore. This second property located on the 16th floor, spans 8,400 square feet .  includes four bedrooms and five dedicated car parking spaces. The deal sets a new benchmark in Bengaluru’s upscale real estate market, with the price per square foot at ₹59,500, among the highest in the city.

The apartment was purchased from a Mumbai-based businessman who had owned it for nearly a decade. The transaction was facilitated by Sadhwani Real Estate Holdings. The cost of this property marks a significant increase in the real estate value of the area. Originally sold for ₹22,000 per square foot, properties in Kingfisher Towers are now worth much more, with resale prices ranging from ₹30 crore and above.

Kingfisher Towers is located in Bengaluru’s central business district (CBD), UB City, a prime location known for its high-end residential and business spaces. The 34-story residential complex comprises 81 luxury apartments, each averaging 8,321 square feet. The towers are situated on a 4.5-acre plot and offer expansive living spaces with state-of-the-art amenities, including concierge services, wellness facilities, floor-to-ceiling windows, and high ceilings. The apartments are highly sought after by wealthy business executives, including Biocon’s Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Flipkart’s Sachin Bansal.

The location adds further value to the property, being close to popular retail areas like Brigade Road and MG Road, as well as Lavelle Road. Additionally, it is bordered by Cubbon Park, one of Bengaluru’s few open spaces. The project offers various amenities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, a gym, spa, luxury salons, and coffee shops, with services sprawled across 50,000 to 75,000 square feet.

This transaction follows other high-profile deals in Kingfisher Towers, including a previous purchase by Sudha Murty, Narayana Murthy’s wife, for ₹29 crore. The real estate boom in this part of Bengaluru has seen luxury property prices continue to rise, with other prominent figures making investments in the area.
