Real Estate Firm Employees Face Charges for Arson at Office

The Puttenahali police are currently searching for an area sales manager and his assistant, who work for a real estate firm. This search is in connection with a fire incident at their office premises. Although the incident occurred on September 13, it was only reported by the company officials on Wednesday after they reviewed CCTV footage, confirming the two suspects' involvement.

The individuals in question, identified as Rahul Pujari and Lavson Peter John, formerly held the positions of area sales managers at a real estate company situated in Hulimavu. During the course of the investigation, it was uncovered that the accused had been terminated from their positions due to poor performance and failure to meet their targets. Afterward, they initiated the process of seeking their unpaid dues and pending salary from the company's HR department, resorting to harassing communication over the phone.

When the HR department informed them that, in accordance with company policy, they were not eligible for their requested salary, the duo became incensed, verbally abusing and threatening her with severe consequences. On September 13, carrying a bottle of petrol, they entered the office premises and instructed the housekeeping staff to evacuate before dousing the area with fuel and setting it ablaze. They then fled the scene.

The complaint was lodged by Umashankar Ayoor, the owner of the company, who had verified the incriminating CCTV footage. The fire resulted in the destruction of furniture and materials valued at ₹11 lakh, causing substantial financial losses to the company.
