Sobha Group's Empowering Vision: Building 1,000+ Homes for India's Underprivileged

Sobha Group, a renowned real estate developer in the UAE and India, has recently unveiled an ambitious initiative to construct over 1,000 residential units within the Palakkad district of Kerala, a state in South India. The primary objective of this project is to provide housing for underprivileged families within the region. Over the course of the next four years, Sobha Group aims to make a significant impact by offering decent living spaces to those in need.

As part of the initial phase of the 'Sobha Community Home Project,' Sobha Group is constructing these houses specifically for low-income and underprivileged families residing in the Kizhakkanchery Panchayath within the Palakkad district. This endeavor aims to address the housing needs of these vulnerable communities, providing them with a secure and comfortable living environment. The project seeks to uplift and support those in need within the local area, demonstrating Sobha Group's commitment to social welfare and community development.

Under the auspices of Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust, the group initiated the construction of 100 houses during the inaugural phase of the project, marking the occasion with a signing ceremony where the foundation was laid.

This initiative reflects the company's dedication to philanthropic values and its steadfast commitment to making a meaningful contribution to humanitarian causes. Under the guidance of PNC Menon, the Founder, and Chairman of Sobha Group and Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust, the company is committed to its mission to positively impact society.

Menon, joined by Ravi Menon, Co-Chairman of Sobha Realty, and Jagadish Nangineni, Managing Director of Sobha Limited, graced the ceremony with their presence. The event also saw the honorable attendance of senior ministers, including V Muraleedharan, Union Minister for External Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs, and K. Rajan, Kerala's Minister for Revenue and Housing, alongside several distinguished leaders from the state.

As part of the event, the UAE developer presented keys to 10 recently constructed homes to underprivileged families. Additionally, the developer handed over six living quarters to young mothers and their children, demonstrating their commitment to supporting those in need.

The developer stated that each home, with an approximate cost of Rs1.5 million, contributes to the ongoing construction of 100 houses in the initial phase of the project. The primary objective of this initiative is to offer economically disadvantaged families a suitable and affordable living space, ensuring they have access to decent housing.

In keeping with its commitment to assisting the less fortunate, the event also involved the announcement of a social pension scheme for 50 widows residing in rural areas of the district. Additionally, the company extended educational opportunities to 90 young girls from underprivileged backgrounds by enrolling them in the Sobha Academy. These initiatives exemplify the company's dedication to uplifting and supporting individuals in need.

Addressing the gathering, Menon expressed, "At Sobha Group, we firmly believe in the importance of philanthropy, which is why we have undertaken various humanitarian initiatives and projects. Access to food, shelter, education, and clothing are fundamental necessities in life, yet a significant portion of the population in our country and worldwide lacks these essentials."

Adding to his remarks, Menon stated, "As individuals and organizations blessed with resources, we bear a moral responsibility to assist those in need while actively working towards the advancement of our society. Sobha Group, acknowledging this obligation, has consistently emphasized the fulfillment of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This project aligns with our philanthropic endeavors and underscores our dedication to making a positive impact in the community.
