Telangana RERA Fines Hyderabad Developer ₹4.2 Lakh Over Violation

The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has levied a ₹4.2 lakh penalty on a Hyderabad developer for advertising a real estate project without securing the required registration. The developer was found to be in violation of Section 3 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, which mandates that all commercial and residential projects exceeding 500 square meters or eight apartments must be registered with RERA before any advertisement or sale.

The authority took notice of the violation during routine monitoring and issued a notice to the developer in question. Following the hearing, Telangana RERA confirmed that the project was being advertised and promoted on multiple online platforms without securing the mandatory registration. The penalty was levied to reinforce compliance and ensure that homebuyers are protected under the framework of the Act.

This enforcement action is part of a broader effort by Telangana RERA to improve transparency and accountability in the real estate sector. Over the past few years, the regulatory authority has increased its vigilance and has taken strict action against non-compliant developers. Authorities have emphasized that failure to register with RERA undermines buyer confidence and could result in both financial penalties and legal proceedings.

By penalizing the developer, Telangana RERA has sent a strong message to the real estate community in Hyderabad and beyond. All developers are being urged to strictly follow the rules laid down by the Act and ensure that buyers are fully informed about the legal status of any real estate project. Homebuyers are also encouraged to verify RERA registration before making any investments.

The case underscores the importance of legal compliance in real estate transactions and serves as a reminder that regulatory oversight plays a crucial role in protecting consumer rights in India’s growing property market.
