On July 14, 2023, the CNBC Awaaz Real Estate Awards & Conclave, presented by RR Kabel, took place in Hyderabad, marking a significant event for India's thriving real estate sector. The occasion brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and thought leaders to discuss trends and strategies for advancing the sector's growth.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Vipin Bhatt, Real Estate Editor at CNBC Awaaz, who highlighted the remarkable performance of the real estate industry in recent years. He expressed delight in hosting the 14th edition of the Real Estate Conclave in Hyderabad, where industry accomplishments were celebrated and future advancements in the field were encouraged.
The esteemed guest of honor for the evening was Shri KT Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Industries & Commerce, and Information Technology-Electronics & Communication of Telangana. In his opening remarks, he reaffirmed Telangana's unwavering support for the real estate sector, emphasizing the Telangana State Building Permission Self-Certification System (TS-bPASS), which expedites approval for residential projects within the state.
A fireside chat between the Hon'ble Minister and Vipin Bhatt followed, focusing on urban development. Shri KT Rama Rao highlighted the importance of prioritizing basic infrastructure and utilities in urbanization efforts. He proudly announced that Hyderabad would become the first major city in India to treat 100% of its sewage by September, while introducing plug-and-play IT infrastructure in seven towns across Telangana to attract investments and alleviate pressure on urban centers.
The conclave featured several panel discussions with prominent business figures. The first discussion, titled "India's Real Estate Changing Gears: Recovery to Growth," included industry thought leaders such as P Rama Krishna Rao, Sunil Chandra Reddy, C Shekhar Reddy, Venu Vinod, M. Goutham Reddy, Anuj Kapoor, and Shreegopal Kabra.
The subsequent discussion focused on "The Future of Urbanization: Role of Tier 1 Cities." The panel, moderated by Lakshman Roy, comprised distinguished members including Hon'ble R Krishnaiah, Shekhar Reddy, and Rajesh Kabra.
