UP RERA Unveils Updated Guidelines for Real Estate Promoters

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has issued fresh guidelines to enhance accountability among real estate promoters. These guidelines require promoters to provide essential contact information, including the name, designation, mobile phone number, e-mail address, residential address, and office address of the authorized representative for correspondence.

Furthermore, promoters must ensure that they have arrangements in place to receive calls and provide timely and appropriate responses to inquiries made on the provided contact number. UP RERA Chairman, Sanjay Bhoosreddy, emphasized the importance of these guidelines in maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, particularly property buyers.

Under these new directives, if a project has a helpline number, the promoter must ensure its continuous functionality and responsiveness to consumer inquiries without delay. Additionally, promoters are instructed to furnish comprehensive information about their authorized representatives through a dedicated form on the UP RERA portal.

UP RERA emphasizes that only correspondence conducted by the authorized representative or officer of the promoter organization will be considered valid. This initiative aims to enhance the credibility of communications and provide assurance of official communication between promoters, UP RERA, and consumers.

Sanjay Bhoosreddy stressed the significance of promoters' accountability and availability, considering their crucial role in the real estate sector in Uttar Pradesh. He highlighted that this measure is mandatory and crucial for UP RERA and the confidence of property buyers.
